Long nutmeg, or Makassar Nutmeg, is a less common variety of nutmeg from Papua New Guinea and Sulawesi, Indonesia. long Nutmeg is known for being more elongated, nutty, creamy, and slightly milder than the common, round nutmeg sometimes with a slight anise flavour in comparison of traditional nutmeg from the Banda Islands. Long Nutmeg is often used in similar sweet, savory, and spiced dishes but with a distinct flavor profile.
Disclosure - Long Nutmeg comes in its original shell. Remove the shell before use. Simply push with force on the shell, it will break and discard it.
