Calabash Nutmeg

This extremely rare  spice is related the the Apple and Custard family. Its primarily used in West Africa as a substitute for Nutmeg, but now with Nutmrg more widely available Calabash is becoming increasingly difficult to source. Its flavors are reminisce Nutmeg but have unique notes that can only be found within the Calabash. Try substituting Calabash with Nutmeg or add it into meat marinades, rice dishes and baking!
