Iranian Saffron (Persian)

Not all Saffron is created equal, the region highly influences the quality of the Saffron producing flowers which only can be harvested a few times a year. Each flower produces only a few threads and it takes hundreds of these handpicked threads to produce one gram of Saffron.
 
Iran has always been renowned for its exceptional quality Saffron. For us at the Spice Merchant this is our highest grade saffron and because of embargoes it is quite difficult to source.
