Trinidad Scorpion Chili

Native to the country of Trinidad and Tobago in the Southern Caribbean, the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion pepper is one of the world's hottest peppers. On February 13, 2013, the New Mexico Chile Pepper Institute named the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion pepper the world's hottest pepper with an average Scoville Heat Unit (SHU) rating of more than 1.2 million on the Scoville Scale. The Scoville Scale is a measure of the pungency (heat level) of chili peppers.
